Analytics : Turkmenistan joins the world's twenty happiest countries

According to the Gallup World Poll, Turkmenistan jointed the world's top twenty happiest countries, leaving behind the CIS countries, as well as Germany, France and Japan. Turkmenistan has taken the 18th place, next to the Great Britain, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates. According to Forbes, 52 percent of respondents surveyed in Turkmenistan admitted that they were totally happy, and only 1 percent of respondents said that they suffered. Denmark is on top of the happiest countries, followed by Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Politics : Exports of Turkmen gas to China to increase by December 2012

The State Concern "Turkmengaz" will finance the construction of a gas compressor station with the capacity of 30 bcm a year at the gas field "Malay" in Lebap province. This was announced by the Director of the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources Yagshigeldy Kakayev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. Yagshigeldy Kakayev is temporarily acting as Vice Premier for oil and gas, chemical industries and fisheries replacing Baymyrat Hodzhamuhammedov owing to the latter's ill health.

Politics : Turkmenistan begins construction of "East - West" pipeline

On 31 May, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov solemnly launched the construction of the country's largest gas pipeline "East - West", running for 1000 km in the territory of Turkmenistan. The capacity of the new pipeline is 30 billion cubic meters of gas a year, and its approximate cost is US $ 2 billion dollars.
